The Salient Glacier is a glacier on the eastern flank of the Royal Society Range of the Transantarctic Mountains in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It flows northeast from the slopes of Salient Peak to the head of the Blue Glacier .
The New Zealand team to explore the Blue Glacier in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) carried out a survey of the glacier in 1957. It is named after the mountain of the same name, which is reminiscent of a headland (English salient ).
