The Laja Falls ( Spanish : Salto del Laja ) consist of four waterfalls in the lower reaches of the Río de La Laja about 50 km before its confluence with the Río Bío-Bío . They are located in the Región del Bío-Bío in southern Chile , about 25 km north of Los Ángeles, relatively close to Ruta 5 . Thousands of tourists visit the Laja Falls every year.
The individual waterfalls have a height of about 35 meters. Downstream of the falls, the river is calm and very low and can therefore be waded through in many places. In the vicinity of the Laja Falls there are many hotels and inns as well as a private wildlife park due to the high number of tourists .
