The Salus BKK is a company health insurance fund based in Munich . It is a corporation under public law. It was open nationwide from 1998 to 2013 - with the exception of Saarland . Salus BKK has also been open in Saarland since January 2014 and therefore operates nationwide as a health insurance company. The board member is Ms. Ute Schrader.

history

The health insurance company was founded in 1895 by Philipp Holzmann, the eldest son of the company's father, Johann Philipp, as Philipp Holzmann AG's own company health insurance company. In 1998 the BKK was opened to insured persons from all over Germany - with the exception of Saarland. On July 1st, 2002 the name was changed to "Salus BKK - Die Gutfühlversicherung".

At the end of 2013, the health insurance company moved from Neu-Isenburg to Munich . The head office is still located in Neu-Isenburg.

Contribution rates

Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been standardized by the legislator. The additional contribution rose from 0.79 percent in 2019 to 1.45 percent in 2020.
