Salvatore Iacolino (born November 18, 1963 in Favara , Sicily ) is an Italian politician of the Popolo della Libertà party .

Iacolino studied law at the University of Palermo and then worked as an administrative officer, first in the Veneto region , then in the local health department of Agrigento and from 2005 to 2009 as general director of the local health department of Palermo . From 1997 to 2001 he was also head of the Agrigento community. From 2008 to 2009 he was also Vice President of the National Association of Italian Municipalities in the Health Care Sector. He has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009 .

Activities in the EU Parliament

Iacolini is in the Group of the European People's Party - Christian Democrats.

He is vice-chairman of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs .

Iacolino is a member of the Special Committee against Organized Crime , Corruption and Money Laundering , of the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Union of the Arab Maghreb and of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.

He is a deputy in the Committee on International Trade and in the delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
