Salvatore Monaco
Salvatore Monaco (born December 28, 1972 in Torre Annunziata ) is a former Italian football player .
The defender began his career with the lower-class clubs Rossanese, Francavilla, Trento and Fano . In 1996 he moved to Foggia in the Serie B . After two years he went to Salernitana in Serie A , with which he was relegated in 1999. At the beginning of 2000 he moved to the first division club Perugia . After testing positive for anabolic steroids , he was banned from doping for 16 months in February 2001 . From 2002 to 2004 he was then under contract with the second division Catania . Then he played for the league competitors Catanzaro and Ternana . In 2006/07 he let his career with Torres end in the C2 series .
