The Samsung Corporation is the oldest company in the South Korean Samsung Group . Samsung Corporation was founded in Daegu in 1938 and has been based in Seoul since January 2008 . The construction and trading divisions, which are also the first companies in the conglomerate, operate under it.
The Samsung Corporation holds the Samsung Group together with significant stakes in its sister companies, so that it could still be called the parent company of the Samsung Group today. Out of it also was Samsung Electronics established.
Business areas
Engineering & Construction is the third largest construction company in South Korea , which has distinguished itself above all in high-rise construction . The three tallest buildings in the world , Burj Khalifa , Taipei 101 and the Petronas Towers , were built by the Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group.

Trading & Investment Group (Samsung C&T) is the largest trading company in South Korea. The division is responsible for the development of new business fields outside the electronics area for the Samsung Group. In the last few years the investments made more profits than with trading. Main business areas: Trade in machines, steel, chemicals, electronic components and photovoltaics. In Germany the name of the subsidiary is Samsung C&T Deutschland GmbH (until 2010 Samsung Deutschland GmbH ).
