The Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 is a tablet computer based on the Android operating system from the South Korean manufacturer Samsung Electronics . The fifth generation of the Galaxy tablets was characterized by a newly introduced differentiation of the tablets into entry-level segment (Tab E), middle class (Tab A) and upper class (Tab S). The Galaxy Tab E 9.6 was the first and at the time the only tablet in the entry-level series, came onto the market in Germany in July 2014 and was only available with a screen diagonal of 9.6 inches. The predecessor was the Galaxy Tab 4 , there was no direct successor as the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8 was only sold in North America.

The Galaxy Tab E 9.6 has a TFT-LCD display with 157 ppi and 16 million colors, the cameras allow videos in 1280 × 720 at 30 fps, a microphone and loudspeaker as well as GPS + GLonass and an acceleration sensor are integrated. The model names are SM-T560 for the version with WiFi and SM-T561 for the 3G version.
