Samuel Adamson

Samuel Adamson (born November 27, 1969 in Adelaide , South Australia ) is an Australian playwright and screenwriter . He has lived in England since 1991 , currently near London .

Adamson had his breakthrough as a playwright with his first play Clocks and Whistles at London's Bush Theater in 1996. He wrote several plays and adaptations for various theaters in London and the 2007 screenplay for the short Running for River starring Romola Garai .

The world premiere of his much acclaimed stage adaptation of Pedro Almodovar's film Alles über Meine Mutter took place in 2007 at the Old Vic Theater in London, the German premiere in 2009 at the Vienna Volkstheater .
