Samuel S. Carr
Samuel S. Carr (born October 15, 1837 in England, † February 25, 1908 in Brooklyn , New York ) was an American genre painter who specialized in the depiction of children playing, sheep and beach scenes.
Life
Samuel Carr studied at the Royal School of Design in Chester , England, and emigrated to the USA in 1863. In 1865 he took a course in technical drawing at Cooper Union in New York City . From 1870 he lived in Brooklyn, New York, and was a member and briefly president of the Brooklyn Art Club .
