Samundri (Urdu: سمندری) is a city in the Faisalabad district of Punjab Province in Pakistan . It is located south of Faisalabad .
history
Samundri was on an important trade route during the reign of Sher Shah Suri . The current city of Samundri was founded in 1887.

economy
Sugar cane and wheat are the main crops in the region, while corn is the most traded commodity in the local trade market. The cultivation of rice only plays a minor role due to the lack of water.
