San Giovanni Evangelista a Spinaceto (Latin: Sancti Ioannis Evangelistae in Spinaceto ) is a titular church in Rome .

The parish was founded on October 1, 1969 with the decree Neminem fugit by Cardinal Vicar Angelo Dell'Acqua . On October 6, 1979, the modern church, built to a design by the Spanish architect Julio Garcia Lafuente and the Italian architect Gaetano Rebecchini, was consecrated and entrusted to the Congregation of the Family of Merciful Love ( Figli dell'amore misericordioso (FAM) in Italian ). On November 18, 1979, Pope John Paul II visited the church and parish.

On May 25, 1985 the elevation to the title church of the Roman Catholic Church by Pope John Paul II took place. Patron saint is the Evangelist John .

Modern church building is characterized by a complex geometric arrangement with a central plan and intersecting circles. The outer and inner shell of the building was made from blocks of tuff . The roof is a molded curved concrete shell. The circular chancel, which is three steps higher, is covered with a strip of light. The church has a side chapel for the days of the week.

The church is located at Via Raffaele Aversa 44 in the Roman urban area Spinaceto in the urban zone Tor de 'Cenci .
