San Isidro (also San Isidro de Iruya ) is a small village in northwest Argentina . It belongs to the department of Iruya in the province of Salta and is located on the Río San Isidro , 8 km north-northwest of the village of Iruya . San Isidro has about 350 inhabitants. The place consists of the districts Pueblo Viejo (not to be confused with the village of the same name Pueblo Viejo ), Pumayoc, La Laguna, Trihuasi, La Palmera and La Cueva. The Pantipampa plateau is two kilometers east of the village .

The village has a school (escuela Nº4283) in the district of Pueblo Viejo. Until January 2010 the village was without electricity.

On May 15th the Patronage Festival San Isidro Labrador takes place.

Others

In 1900, the Yugoslav Manuel Frederich Milatovich made flight attempts in San Isidro with a self-made airplane with which he wanted to fly to Iturbe train station in the Jujuy province. During a test flight, the plane crashed into the river. Milatovich survived the fall.
