San Luis del Palmar is the capital of the eponymous department of San Luis del Palmar in the province of Corrientes in northeast Argentina . In the classification of the municipalities in the province of Corrientes, San Luis del Palmar (Corrientes) belongs to the 2nd category.

The city is affected in the north by the Rio Riachuelo.
Infrastructure, economy
San Luis del Palmar is currently (2018) an urban center with great population growth. The city is home to several shopping centers, a hospital, schools, a football stadium, two Christian churches (the Catholic parish church of San Luis Rey de Francia and the Protestant free church Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día ), retailers, restaurants and much more.
There are strong connections to the provincial capital Corrientes, which is only 24 km away, which make it seem likely that the city will be part of the Conurbano ("agglomeration") of Gran Corrientes.
The strong increase in population is significant: from 10,644 in 2001 to 12,287 in 2010 (according to INEC ).
