Sande is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Marco de Canaveses . The community had 1,885 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Sande and São Lourenço do Douro were merged to form the new municipality of Sande e São Lourenço . Sande is the seat of this newly formed community.
