Sandvika
is a town in themunicipality of Bærum, inFylke VikeninNorway. It is the seat of the municipality's administration and has had city rights since 2003. The city is located in the southwest of the municipality of Bærum, directly on theOslofjord, about 15 kilometers southwest of the city center of Oslo. The city's population has increased significantly in the past few decades. Thanks to its convenient transport links to the neighboring city of Oslo, many commuters have settled in Sandvika. Geographically, it can be assigned to theOsloconurbation.
The Sandvika Storsenter located in Sandvika , the largest shopping center in Scandinavia with a sales area of over 50,000 m², is of great economic importance for the surrounding area .
The city is connected to Oslo by the E18 and E16 expressways . In addition to local and long-distance trains, there are also trains from the airport express train Flytoget , which connects the city with Oslo-Gardermoen airport in a journey time of 40 to 45 minutes.
