Sanjurge is a village and former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Chaves . It has 335 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

In the course of the local reorganization of Portugal after the local elections on September 29, 2013, it was merged with the municipality of Santa Cruz-Trindade to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Santa Cruz / Trindade e Sanjurge . The seat of the new municipality is the village of Cocanha.
