These prayer lessons took place in the school at that time.

The foundation stone for the 21 meter long chapel was laid on Friday, October 22, 1954. The topping-out ceremony was celebrated on June 11, 1955. The architect of the building was Mr. Münter. The building was built in dolomite rock . The six meter high nave has 191 seats. In 2008, a community room was set up next to the organ on the upper floor, which has a kitchen and is used as a winter church.

On November 6, 1955, the new chapel was inaugurated with a service .

On January 1, 2009, the community of Schulenberg was dissolved after it had only 150 members. The parishioners were in the St. Nicolas parish in Altenau umgepfarrt .
