Sanna Tidstrand (* 26. July 1985 in Malung ) is on fast skiing and ski cross specialized Swedish alpine ski racer .
Sporting development and successes
Sanna Tidstrand is a member of the Saelens IF ski club and at the age of 19 she won her first international speed skiing competition in Hundfjället (Sweden) at 190.48 km / h. In 2005 she took first place at the X Games in the ski cross category.
In high-speed skiing, she set a new world speed record in April 2006 with 242.59 km / h in Les Arcs at the Pro World Speed Ski competition.
Between the 2004/2005 and 2012/13 winter seasons, Tidstrand regularly took top places in numerous individual races organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS). Since 2008 (with an interruption in 2009 and 2010), Tidstrand has won the World Cup with the highest number of points .
Sanna Tidstrand was unable to qualify for the ski cross competitions at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver (2010) because she was injured in a competition in St. Johann in Austria in December 2009.
In the 2010s she was very successful in numerous sports comparisons, as shown by a compilation in the Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter . For example, in January 2013 she became vice world champion in high-speed skiing
On March 26, 2016 Sanna Tidstrand lost the world speed record to the Italian Valentina Greggio , who reached 247.083 km / h on the Chabrière slope in Vars . But in the same year she won her fifth World Cup crystal ball in speed skiing.
