Santín Carlos Rossi

Santín Carlos Rossi (born October 11, 1884 in Flores Department , † 1935 or April 8, 1936 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Rossi studied medicine at the medical faculty of the Universidad de la República and successfully graduated on March 17, 1911. At first he worked as a "Practicante interno" at the Vilardebó Hospital and finally worked there as a doctor. In 1917 he was appointed lecturer ("Profesor Agregado") for psychiatry and forensic medicine, and in 1925 he finally became a full professor ("Profesor Titular") for psychiatry.

Rossi, who belonged to the Partido Colorado , held a titular mandate in Cámara de Representantes in the 28th, 29th and 30th legislative periods as the representative of the Montevideo department from February 15, 1923 to April 5, 1929 . He was also Minister of Education ("Ministro de Instrucción Pública").
