Santa Maria delle Grazie di Montevergini or Montevergine is a church building in Palermo .

The noblewoman Luisa Settimo founded a small St. Mary's Church in the 15th century, which was assigned to the Poor Clare Monastery. After a larger monastery was built through the acquisition of land, the nuns planned to build a new church. Construction began in 1687 under the Jesuit architect Lorenzo Ciprì and was continued by Andrea Palma after his death in 1703 . Palma was also responsible for the design of the outer facade and the decoration of the interior, he had the frescoes done by Guglielmo Borremans in 1721 . When the church was rebuilt, the frescoes with scenes from the life of Jesus created by Riccardo Quartararo in 1495 were lost. In 1716 Giuseppe Mariani designed the campanile, the head of which was covered with colored majolica. From the middle of the 18th century, the sacristy was decorated in neoclassical style and the chapel was enlarged by Luigi del Frago. In 1704, Antonio Grano created a cycle of frescoes, which was painted over in 1802 by Giuseppe Velasco in monochrome style. Giovanni Patricolo created the high altar in 1856/57.

With the secularization, the monastery was dissolved in 1866 and taken over by the city, while the monastery church was converted into a parish church. The church in Via Montevergini in the Seralcadio district currently serves as the municipal theater (Teatro Novo Montevergini).
