Antonio Grano
Antonio Grano (* around 1660 in Palermo ; † April 15, 1718 ibid) was a painter of frescoes and panels of the late Baroque in Palermo.
Life
Even if Grano painted in the manner of Pietro Novelli , training in his workshop can be ruled out, as Novelli had already died in 1647. It is certain that after his apprenticeship he came to Rome on the recommendation of Giacinto Calandrucci to continue his education in the workshop of Carlo Maratta . After his return he created frescoes in Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio and other churches in and outside Palermo, the color of which was praised. A collaboration with the architect Giacomo Amato has been proven.
