The title of Cardinal Priest of Santa Paola Romana was recreated by Pope Francis as part of the consistory of February 14, 2015 at the Roman parish church of the same name .

history

On January 4, 2015, at the end of the Sunday Angelus prayer , Pope Francis announced a consistory for the creation of 20 cardinals for February 14, 2015 .

With the appointment of the new cardinals at the consistory, the total number of cardinals rose to the previously unheard of 227. Therefore, 11 new titles of cardinal priest were created.
