Santa Teresa d'Avila al Corso d'Italia is a titular church on Corso d'Italia in Rome , Italy. It is dedicated to Saint Teresa of Ávila .

The foundation stone was laid by Cardinal Girolamo Gotti in 1901. It was built according to a design by Tullio Passarelli in a Romanesque - Gothic style. Pope Pius X made it a parish church in 1906 and handed it over to the pastoral care of the Discalced Carmelites , who have their generalate , a convent and the parish center next to the church. Pope Pius XII elevated the church to the rank of a minor basilica and Pope John XXIII. in 1962 to the rank of titular church . The current cardinal priest has been Maurice Piat since November 19, 2016.

Teresa of Ávila is depicted on the church facade while she is being blessed and on the high altar . The interior was decorated with works by Roman artists of the 20th century.
