Saori Sakoda ( Japanese 迫 田 さ お り , Sakoda Saori ; born December 18, 1987 in Kagoshima ) is a Japanese volleyball player . She won the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics.

Career

Sakoda began her career at Kagoshima-nishi High School. She joined Toray Arrows in 2006 . Two years later she won the cup and championship double with the club. Two more championship titles followed in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, the outside attacker made her debut in the Japanese national team , with whom she finished third at the World Cup . With her club Sakoda was runner-up in 2011. At the Asian Cup she came in second with Japan. In 2012 she achieved the double again with Toray Arrows. Then Sakoda took part in the Olympic Games in London and won the bronze medal.
