The Sapas Mons ( Latin for mountain of the Sapas , after a Phoenician goddess) is a volcano on Venus .

The shield volcano has a height of about 1.5 kilometers above its own base, a base diameter of 400 kilometers and extends up to 4.5 kilometers above the mean level of the planet. It is located near the equator at 8 ° north latitude and 188 ° east longitude. Coordinates: 8 ° 30 ′  N , 171 ° 42 ′  W in the highlands of Aphrodite Terra , in the west of the Atla Regio.

The many narrow lava flows at Sapas Mons are striking. As with all volcanoes on Venus, eruptions were never observed.
