Sapphire (ship name)
Saphir ( sapphire ) is the name of a number of submarines used by the French Navy :
- Sapphire (1908): Sapphire (Q 44) was a submarine of the Émeraude class (1906) in the First World War . The boat sank in the Dardanelles on January 15, 1915 .
- Saphir (1930): was the lead ship of the Saphir class used in World War II .
- Saphir (1952): The Saphir (ex HMS Satyr ) was a British S-class submarine . The French Navy used the boat between 1952 and 1961.
- Saphir (S602) : is a Rubis class nuclear submarine ( SSN ) from 1984
