Sara Hutzler

Sara Hutzler , also Sara Kainz (born March 26, 1853 in St. Louis , Missouri , † June 24, 1893 in Berlin ) was an American-German writer.

Life

Sara Hutzler was best known for her children's and youth stories. In 1868 she married a much older doctor from St. Louis who died in 1871. In 1873 she married the actor Josef Kainz a second time . In 1878 she moved to Berlin with her children. There she briefly became the lover of the doctor and writer Max Nordau in 1881 .

Hutzler died in 1893 at the age of only 40 and was buried in the Old Twelve Apostles Cemetery in Berlin-Schöneberg . The tomb was later cleared. On September 2, 2018, a new memorial stone was placed on the former grave at the initiative of the Protestant parish.
