Sara Lov

Sara Lov (* 1970 in Hawaii ) is an American singer and composer.

Life

Sara Lov moved to Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorced . At the age of five, Lov was kidnapped by her father and taken to Israel . She returned to Los Angeles when she was twelve. She grew up with her uncle, who was able to have his niece repatriated.

While studying art at Santa Monica College, she met Dustin O'Halloran and founded the Dream Pop Duo Dévics with him in 1998 . In 2001 the former bassist with the Cocteau Twins , Simon Raymonde, offered them a record deal with his label Bella Union . After a long stay in Italy , the two artists returned to Los Angeles. Sara Lov decided to start her career as a solo artist and is working on her first album with producer Zac Rae.

In January 2009 her debut - The Young Eyes EP was released on the label Nettwerk. In addition to their own songs, the EP includes cover versions of My Body Is A Cage by Arcade Fire , and Timebomb by Beck . The debut album Seasoned Eyes Were Beaming was released in March 2009 and is "a kind of musical coming to terms with the past" because she processed the experiences of her eventful youth in several songs. She lives in Los Angeles .
