Location of the Sarysu

The Sarysu ( Kazakh and Russian Сарысу ; "yellow water") is a river in Kazakhstan .

It is fed by meltwater in the area of ​​the Kazakh Threshold , arises near the settlement Atassu , flows to the west, later to the southwest and crosses the Kazakh regions of Karagandy and Qysylorda . It used to be a tributary of the Syr-Darjas , today it seeps into the steppe 100 km beforehand. With a length of 671 kilometers, the Sarysu is the longest steppe river without any drainage .
