Atassu (Cyrillic notation: Атасу ) is an urban-type in Kazakhstan and the administrative center of the district Schanaarqa in the area Qaraghandy .

The place with 14,265 inhabitants is located on the Sarysu River 170 km southwest of the regional capital Karagandy , in the area of ​​the Kazakh threshold .
