Sascha Buzmann (born July 6, 1976 in Wiesbaden ) was kidnapped in 1986 at the age of nine and held captive for 86 days.

kidnapping

Buzmann grew up in Wiesbaden-Delkenheim . In the early evening of January 10, 1986, he took the bus home after spending the afternoon on a roller skating rink. On the way from the bus stop to his parents' house, he was kidnapped by Adam Geist, who dragged him several kilometers into his dwelling, a neglected caravan without running water and toilet in Mainz-Kastel , in the driving snow .

Sascha Buzmann was held captive for almost three months by his kidnapper and was regularly beaten and sexually abused. When the unemployed Adam Geist left the trailer to find food, he locked the boy in a wooden box, which he weighed down with stones.

The police search for Sascha Buzmann was initially unsuccessful. It was only by chance that the kidnapped child was found: Since Geist had stolen the bill in an inn, two plainclothes investigators visited him on April 5, 1986 and discovered the boy in his caravan.

The kidnapper

Adam Geist, born in 1950, who in turn was mistreated as a child and grew up in the construction trailer, was classified as less guilty and sentenced to seven years in prison. After serving this sentence, he kidnapped another child and is now in preventive detention.

Further career

As a young man, Buzmann completed two training courses. He works as a service specialist in top hotels. In 2012 he published the book Shock Frozen , in which he describes the atrocities he suffered during his abduction. It hit the bestseller lists.
