Sascha Steffen

Sascha Steffen (born January 19, 1978 in Osnabrück ) is a German professor of business administration .

Life

Sascha Steffen studied from 2000 to 2004 at the University of Frankfurt and then did his doctorate there with a focus on finance and a special focus on banking and loan financing in 2008. He switched to the Stern School of Business in New York as a visiting professor and took on an assistant professor Position in April 2009 at the University of Mannheim at the chair of Martin Weber . In 2012 he became professor for business administration with a focus on financial intermediation and banking management at the private ESMT Berlin .

In September 2015 he was offered a position at the University of Mannheim , combined with the management of the "International Financial Markets and Financial Management" department at the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW). He took up the position on January 1, 2016.

Research and Teaching

His main research interests are banking management and financial intermediation. For example, he dealt with differences in the cost of borrowing between listed and unlisted companies and changes in the lending practice of Landesbanken during the financial crisis .
