Sascha Zehner (* 1973 ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was elected to the Saarland state parliament in the state elections in Saarland in 2017 .

Life

Sascha Zehner passed his A-levels at the Saarbrücken Marienschule in 1992 and studied law at the Saarland University from 1992 to 1997 , but finished his studies without a degree because he joined the family business in Saarbrücken as a debt collection agent.

Sascha Zehner has been a CDU member in the Dudweiler-Süd local association since 1990 and has been the local chairman for several years. He has also been a member of the city council of the state capital Saarbrücken since 1994, currently as deputy chairman of the parliamentary group and speaker in the main and economic committee. Since 1999 he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the CongressCentrum Saar . As a city councilor, he is also on the supervisory board of Saarbrücker Stadtwerke and the Saarbrücken public transport company .

In the state elections in Saarland in 2017 , he was elected as a CDU candidate in the 16th Saarland state parliament.

Zehner's main political work focuses on domestic, security and cultural policy. He is the cultural policy spokesman for his CDU parliamentary group. He is also a member of the committees for home affairs and sport, justice, constitutional and legal issues and the subcommittee for data protection and freedom of information. In addition to his mandate in the state parliament, Zehner is also chairman of the KPV Saarbrücken-Stadt.
