Philip Dechamps (* 1989 in Munich ) is a German actor .

Life

Philip Dechamps is the son of the actor Bernd Dechamps . He grew up in his native Munich, where he attended the Thomas-Mann-Gymnasium from 1999 to 2008 , where he also graduated from high school. From 2010 to 2014 he completed his acting studies at the Academy for Performing Arts in Baden-Württemberg . In 2013 he and the ensemble of the play Desirevolution (based on motifs by Matias Faldbakken and Thomas Mann ) received the Günther Rühle Prize at the “Young Actors Week” in Bensheim for his role as Simpel .

Dechamps has been a permanent member of the Munich Residenztheater ensemble since the 2014/15 season . His previous stage roles there included a. a. Mads Moen / Der Affenjunge in Peer Gynt (2014, directed by David Bösch ), Hortensio in The Taming of the Shrew (2014, directed by Tina Lanik ), Chevalier de Danceny in Dangerous Liaisons (2015, directed by Katrine Wiedemann), the title role in Pinocchio (Premiere: 2015/16 season, director: Thomas Birkmeir ), Slick in Die dirty hands (Premiere: 2016, director: Martin Kušej ), Abe in Geächtet von Ayad Akhtar (premiere: February 2016, director: Antoine Uitdehaag ), Philip Lehman in Lehman Brothers. Rise and Fall of a Dynasty by Stefano Massini (premiere: June 2016, director: Marius von Mayenburg ) and the main role of Julian in Der Schweinestall by Pier Paolo Pasolini (premiere: November 2016, director: Ivica Buljan ). During this period there was also an artistic collaboration with Peeping Tom .

In the 2016/17 season he also took on the roles of Christoph / Suicide in the Fassbinder adaptation In a year with 13 moons (premiere: March 2017, director: Aureliusz Smigiel ) and the title role in Tartuffe (premiere: June 2017, Director: Mateja Koleznik ). In autumn 2017 he was awarded the Bavarian Art Prize for the Performing Arts for his acting achievements . In 2018 he received the sponsorship award from the Friends of the Residenztheater.

In addition to his roles at the theater, he played in several film and television productions. He played his first roles as a teenager. He initially had smaller episode roles in the television series Der Alte , Siska , Forsthaus Falkenau and Hubert and Staller . He also worked in the film Blaubeerblau by Rainer Kaufmann and in the series Zeit der Helden by Kai Wessel . In December 2014 he was seen in the ZDF series SOKO Munich as a suspected sports student and bartender Jan Herzinger. In April 2017 he starred in the television series In allerfreund - The young doctors in an episode lead role; he played the former athletes Rico Tiemann, who after a serious accident on the high bar in wheelchair sitting. He had another episode role in the ZDF series Die Rosenheim-Cops (March 2018) as the suspected horse trainer Markus Köhler.

Dechamps lives in Munich.
