Peeping Tom released the first album of the same name on May 30, 2006 under the label Ipecac Recordings , which was founded by the band leader Mike Patton . The name of the band or the project, which means something like "Spanner" in German, probably comes from Michael Powell 's film of the same name (German eyes of fear ), in which Karlheinz Böhm played the role of the psychopathic murderer of women Mark Lewis in 1959. Peeping Tom was announced by Patton after the split from Faith No More . After Patton started the Fantômas and Tomahawk projects and also worked on various other projects, Peeping Tom's album was released in 2006. Each track on this album was recorded with one or more guest musicians, including Massive Attack , Imani Coppola and Norah Jones .
