The Sassyksee ( Ukrainian Сасик ; Russian Сасык ), also Kunduk-Liman , in the Ukraine is an average of 2.5 m lower Liman , a brackish water - lagoon with access to the Black Sea .
With a length of 35 km and a width of up to 11 km, the area is 210 km². After a dam was built in 1978 that completely separated the lagoon from the sea, Lake Sassyk changed into a freshwater lake. It is fed by the rivers Sarata and Kohylnyk and over the Danube Sassyk channel of the Danube .
In 1996 the lake was declared a Ramsar area and in 1998 it was declared part of a 262 km² nature reserve.
