Sathinee Chankrachangwong

Sathinee Chankrachangwong ( Thai : สา ธิ นี จันทร์ กระจ่าง วงศ์ ; born June 25, 1982 in Bangkok ) is a former Thai badminton player .

Athletic career

In 2004 Sathinee Chankrachangwong started at the Olympics in women's doubles with Saralee Thungthongkam . There they both won their first round match against Denyse Julien and Anna Rice from Canada with 15: 3 and 15: 4. In the second round they defeated Chikako Nakayama and Keiko Yoshitomi from Japan with 15: 4 and 15:11. The later Olympic champions Zhang Jiewen and Yang Wei were a size too big for the Thai women in the quarter-finals. Chankrachangwong and Thungthongkam were fifth in the final score. Also at the 2006 World Cup , they couldn't get past the two Chinese women in the quarter-finals and came in fifth again. At the 2005 World Cup , they failed in the quarter-finals with Gao Ling and Huang Sui due to a Chinese pairing.

She won nationally for the first time at the Thai championships in 2000 in women's doubles with Saralee Thungthongkam . Four more titles followed in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
