Saralee Thungthongkam ( Thai : ส รา ลี ย์ ทุ่ง ทองคำ ; born June 13, 1979 in Bangkok ) is a Thai badminton player .

Athletic career

In 2000 Saralee Thungthongkam started at the Olympics for the first time, both in women's doubles with Sujitra Ekmongkolpaisarn and in mixed with Khunakorn Sudhisodhi . In both disciplines, they were eliminated in round two after winning first round games and finished ninth each time. Four years later she was also ninth in mixed with Sudket Prapakamol . In women's doubles with Sathinee Chankrachangwong , she made it to the quarterfinals and finished fifth. In 2008 she was able to book a fifth place for herself, this time in a mixed with Sudket Prapakamol.

Nationally she won the Thai championships for the first time in 1998 in mixed with Tesana Panvisavas , nine further mixed titles followed until 2008. In women's doubles she was successful for the first time in 1999 with Sujitra Ekmongkolpaisarn , followed by six more victories.

In 2002 she won silver at the Asian Games, and in 2006 bronze. In 2005 she was Asian champion in mixed with Sudket Prapakamol and winner of the Japan Open . At the Badminton World Championship in 2006 she won bronze in mixed with Sudket Prapakamol, in the same year they were also successful at the Philippines Open .

In 2012 she won the women's doubles at the Thailand Open 2012 together with Lam Narissapat .
