The Saturn V Dynamic Test Stand is a four-foot-tall building on the grounds of the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville , Alabama .
The building was erected in 1964 to be able to carry out structural and mechanical tests on the Saturn V rockets. For this purpose, the building has a crane to lift the individual stages of a Saturn V rocket inside, as well as a movable platform inside that can simulate vibrations like in a real flight.
In addition to the Saturn V, the Space Shuttle was also tested here for its structural properties and both the Pathfinder and the Enterprise (space shuttle) were temporarily located here.
The building has been listed as a National Historic Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places since 1985 .
