Acid pretreatment

In the textile industry, acidic pretreatment is a process of fabric preparation and represents an alternative to alkaline decoction . The acidic pretreatment is carried out with textile chemicals such as sulfuric acid , formic acid or acetic acid .

It is mainly used for sensitive goods, mixtures and shortened procedures in the process.

It is more complex, time-consuming and “cleans” a little less than the alkaline method, but it is gentle on the goods.

The fact that this process removes fewer accompanying substances from the fiber is due to the acidic environment. Many accompanying substances are more easily “in the liquor ” in an alkaline environment ; H. to bring into solution, e.g. B. Spinnavivagen , sizes or natural fats and oils of the fiber.
