Erythronium citrinum is a species of the tooth lily genus( Erythronium ).

features

The bulbs are 40 to 50 millimeters in size, slender and sometimes form sessile offsets. The leaves are 9 to 15 inches long. The leaf blade is lanceolate to almost ovate and spotted with irregular brown and white stripes. The leaf margin is more or less wavy. The shaft is 12 to 35 centimeters long. The inflorescence is one to three-flowered.

The petals are 25 to 45 millimeters long and lanceolate to almost elliptical. They are more or less white in color, often pale pink and pale yellow at their base. The inner petals may or may not be eared at the base. The stamens are 11 to 17 millimeters long. The stamens are less than 0.8 millimeters wide, linear, slender and white or pale pink. The anthers are white, cream-colored, pink, reddish or brownish red. The styles are 6 to 10 millimeters long, white or pink and erect. The scar is unlapped or has lobes that are shorter than 1 millimeter. The capsules are 2 to 5 centimeters long and obovate.

The flowering time is in spring, from March to May.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.

Occurrence

Erythronium citrinum is found in California and Oregon. The species grows in dry forests and slopes rich in bushes, mostly on serpentine slopes at altitudes of 100 to 1300, rarely up to 1800 meters.
