The Saxman Totem Park is a public park in the village of Saxman on Revillagigedo Iceland in Alaska . It was created by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s . Totem poles are on display in the park, many of which come from abandoned Tlingit settlements . Saxman Totem Park is listed as a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places .

In Saxman Totem Park there are Tlingit totem poles from the abandoned settlements of Old Tongass, Cat Island, Village Island, Pennock Island and Cape Fox Village. Two totem poles from Tongass depict not only animals from Tlingit mythology, but also people from contemporary events such as Abraham Lincoln and William H. Seward .

Saxman Totem Park was created by the Civilian Conservation Corps. In this case, local artisans restored Tlingit totem poles or reproduced them when they could no longer be saved.

Saxman Totem Park has been listed as a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places since August 7, 1979 .
