The nose-piston two-stroke engine with a displacement of 60 cm³ and an output of 1.2  HP at 3500 rpm, which was presented at the automobile exhibition in Berlin in 1937, was built under license by various manufacturers. These included the German manufacturers Anker, Bismarck, Elfa, Excelsior, Gold-Rad, Hecker, Meister, Panther, Presto, Urania, Victoria and Wanderer. Hecker preferred installation in the front wheel. The maximum speed was 30 km / h.

The second series of the Saxonette was launched in Germany in 1987 under the Hercules label . The Sachs 301 built-in motor was used under the trade name Spartamet in the Netherlands and Great Britain from 1993 for various types of bicycles. This light moped was a bicycle with an auxiliary motor , which weighed 24 to 27 kg depending on the frame height (50 to 58 cm) and design (women's, men's or mixed frame) and could therefore be moved easily with the pedals.
