Sayfiddin Boharziy Mausoleum
The Sayfiddin Boharziy Mausoleum ( Uzbek Sayfiddin Boharziy maqbarasi ) is a mausoleum in the Uzbek city of Buxoro .
location
The mausoleum is located southeast of the historical center of Buxoro about two kilometers from the Labi Hovuz building complex on the way to Kogon . Immediately next to it is the Bayan Kuli Khan mausoleum .
history
The mausoleum is the tomb of the 1262 deceased poet, mystic and sheikhs Sayfiddin Boharziy of Khorasan , the first in Choresmien then and Bukhara had taught. The first structure above the sheikh's tomb was completed at the beginning of the 14th century. The present mausoleum dates from the end of the 14th century. The building is a cubic structure with a floor area of around 30 × 15 meters, which is flanked on the eastern narrow side by two narrow round towers. Two hemispherical domes vault the two rooms below, the actual grave room (Gur-chane) and an adjoining prayer room (Siarat-chane). Access is through a Pishtak with Ivan . Inside, the transition between the substructure and the dome is made through stalactite vaults . The cenotaph of Sayfiddin Boharziy is in the burial area of the mausoleum . It is richly decorated with carvings.
