Architecture and history

The three-storey plastered building was erected in 1892 by R. Meißner in the neo-renaissance style. In its very representative design, it is reminiscent of castle buildings. The appearance is dominated by the high stepped gables on the western and eastern side of the gable. They are decorated with snails and volutes. The west side is provided with a flat bay window in front of the two upper floors. Its parapets are decorated with ornaments. There is also a diamond coating. On the north facade there is a triangular gable in the middle in front of the upper floors.

Inside the building there are still parts of the construction equipment, in particular the wooden stairs with banisters, balusters and suspended steps. In the stairwell, colored windows, some designed as slugs, have also been preserved. The semicircular skylight of the courtyard door made of colored glass with ornaments is remarkable.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82598 .

The house is particularly important for urban planning. There are publications that run the house at Schönebecker Straße 1b.
