Architecture and history

The unusually narrow house has only three axes and was built in 1894 by the privateer Herrmann Hupe . The facade of the four-storey building is designed in the Italian neo-Renaissance style, with the ground floor being rusticated . The brick-facing surfaces of the facade are yellow and are divided by horizontal strips of red bricks. The three windows on the first floor are crowned by triangular gables. The building is covered by a flat roof . On the west side of the property there is a side wing that was built at the same time.

As part of a partially preserved Wilhelminian style street, the house is considered to be significant in terms of urban development and is an example of an apartment building from the construction period with a simple standard.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82116 .
