Most beautiful train station in Austria
The most beautiful train station in Austria is an award given by the Austrian Transport Club (VCÖ) since 2001.
The award is an essential part of every year carried out by the Austrian Traffic Club track tests . For this purpose, passengers are asked online about various aspects of rail travel such as punctuality or service. Every year in June and July between 10,000 and 20,000 passengers take part.
A central and frequently cited point of this survey is the assessment of the train stations. Especially in the context of the so-called train station offensive, the topic of beautiful train stations became a topic of public interest. The award is thus comparable with the later introduced station of the year in Germany and the FLUX - golden transport hub in Switzerland .
