The Schülbi Dam ( Kazakh Шүлбі бөгені ) is located in eastern Kazakhstan 70 km upstream from Semei on the Irtysh .
The dam was built in the years 1976-1994 near Schülbi . The Irtysh is dammed over a length of 53 km. The reservoir has an area of 255 km² and a maximum width of 6 km. The storage volume is 2,390 million m³. The hydropower plant has 6 units with a total installed capacity of 702 MW. The average annual output is 1,660 million kWh.
