Schüttkasten in Rechnitz

The Schüttkasten Rechnitz or Granarium Rechnitz is on the road to the south in the Bahnhofstrasse in the market town of Rechnitz in the district of Oberwart in Burgenland . The bulk box is a listed building .

history

The bulk box with coat of arms was built in the second half of the 17th century. It belonged to the Rechnitz Castle . The grain surpluses from the Oberwart district , especially wheat and rye, were stored here and then marketed in Wiener Neustadt .

architecture

The bulk box has four storeys and a half-hip roof. On the northern front, the former granary shows the coat of arms of the Batthyány family .
