history
The SC Braunschweig was founded in 1869 as the Braunschweiger Schachclub von 1869 e. V. founded. The club was a co-founder of the German Chess Federation on July 18, 1877 in Leipzig .
In the 1983/84 and 1984/85 seasons, the club played in the German Chess League .
In 2004 the merger with the chess club Gliesmarode from 1925 to the Schachclub Braunschweig Gliesmarode from 1869 e. V. Team fights and club evenings take place in the culture and communication center Brunsviga in the eastern ring area of Braunschweig.
